How to graft using water as a medium Grafting is a method of plant propagation that is quite popular and much in demand because it is considered successful in obtaining new plant seeds that are similar to the parent plant. In this article, the Tani Campus will review grafting techniques using water as a medium. Grafting using water as a medium is in principle almost the same as grafting in general, only the medium used is water and the method of application is different. If grafting generally uses plastic to wrap the media, this grafting technique uses a transparent plastic cup which is tied to the graft stem as a a container for grafting media in the form of water.
Below we will review the explanation of Grafting Using Water Media which is applied to water guava plants:
Tools and materials
Choose the water guava plant whose branches will be grafted, which is healthy, free from pests and diseases and of course has high productivity.
Transparent plastic cups, you can also use plastic cups from mineral water.
Wire or strap.
Sharp and sterile knife.
Water
Grafting stage
Choose a water guava stem/branch to be grafted, cut the branch approximately 5-10 cm from bottom to top, if the stem is hard you can use pliers or something similar to hit the knife.
