Let’s keep things simple by asking the right 7 questions…

1. Q: How do I (and body shops) match the paint for your vehicle? Dealerships and small body shops use a third party aftermarket paint company that matches up to the factory paint. In other words once a brand new car leaves the factory, you can’t get factory paint any longer for a repair. The paint companies then sell the paint toners and software programs to all of the body shops, including body shops at dealerships and… They also sell to a mobile technician like myself.
I buy my paint materials from the exact same paint suppliers that the dealerships and body shops by their paint materials from. Instead of me having large 1 gallon or quart size cans of paint toners, I bring my very own 8 oz bottles for them to fill up for me. I also have the exact same software program in my mobile unit. I can mix any color on site as long as I have your paint code.

2. Q: Do I have to paint the entire bumper in order to repair it correctly? I can usually spot repair and blend the damaged area. It can be a little tricky and most painters don’t like doing it. I could try to also bash body shops on this subject but most of the time body shops are doing large repairs and don’t have time for a very small and finicky ones. That’s where I come in. I don’t mind focusing for a few hours on just one repair. I basically use the same technique that body shops use when they have to blend the sale panel on your vehicle. It’s the panel that is located at the rear of the vehicle. Most people would call it a rear fender but really it’s called a quarter panel. To be more specific, it’s the rear panel where most vehicles gas doors are located. That one panel runs way up over top of the side windows and in some cases connect directly to the roof with new breaking point. In other words, if you have to repair that panel then where do you stop the clear coat? Well, they blend it and warranty it. I use that same principle for the corner of your bumper. I use the same products that the dealerships use and the same blending technique that they use. I’m basically making a living doing what the body shops know how to do but they won’t do.

3. Q: How can I repair your vehicle’s paint without dirt getting into the paint? Every car I have painted in a backyard garage has won first place in car shows that they entered into. The cars I have painted in a spray booth at my day job never won anything. Of course they were just cars that people drove every day and never entered them into a car show 🙂 Even in a spray booth, dirt can still get into the clear coat from things in the airline, dirt blowing out of a fender gap or even something falling off the clothes of a painter. When these things would happen we would pick it out of the paint, then wet sand and buff it right out. Many times we would paint things right out on the shop floor with no filtration whatsoever. We would wet sand and buff whatever we painted in the customer would compliment us on how clean or paint booth was. My point is as long as the panel is prepped correctly and low wind, it’s totally normal to have a great bumper repair performed in your garage or driveway. I know, I’ve been doing it ever since I was 14 years old 😉

4. Q: Am I only able to spray bumper corners? I have been painting cars since I was 14 years old. I also painted a lot of custom graphic art on cars and motorcycles. I learned how to paint cars in a backyard garage on the East Coast with cold winters and humid summers. I made all kinds of mistakes while learning to paint cars. I LOVE CARS!!! This is how we actually learn to get better. I didn’t know it at the time but it prepped me to work in the big collision shops. The heat here Phoenix Arizona helps to dry every stage of the repair quickly unlike the bitter cold winters back in Maryland where I’m from. So long story short, I mainly advertise “bumper corner repairs” in Phoenix Arizona because they are a bit smaller to do, easier to control and more cost-effective.

5. Q: What type of repairs do I do? I mainly just stick to bumper repairs and the occasional fender repair. But when it comes to bumper repairs… I can repair scrapes, gouges, punctures, tears, rips and can eliminate your license plate holes as well.

6. Q: Repair time? It usually takes about 4 hours to complete a repair at your home. When I’m finished with the repair, the vehicle is drivable immediately. Even If it does rain in Phoenix Arizona, The paint in clear coat dries fast enough so you don’t have to worry. In other words when I’m done with the repair, it’s ready for the Phoenix Arizona weather no matter what.

7: Q: Do I offer a warranty? Yes!... See more at my website. Just text or email few photos from about 3-4 ft away from the damaged area.
