Tiutinen is a city district of Kotka and an island in the Gulf of Finland. Tiutinen was elected as the Kymenlaakso region's "village of the year" in 2019. Houses of Tiutinen are mainly from 1910-1920, though big part of the island was destroyed in bombings in WW2. Some ruins of Ruotsinsalmi sea fortress from can be seen in the island. They were built by Russia after Russo-Swedish War of 1788-1790. During the Crimean War, a British-French fleet destroyed the Ruotsinsalmi fortifications in 1855.
