High jump Men qualification
In group B of the men's high jump qualifying round two Caribbean athletes will open their campaign. The veteran Bahamian Donald Thomas has to rely on his experience navigating his way through this round as he has not been in great form this season. Thomas is a former Commonwealth games and multiple times world and Olympic finalist. The other Caribbean athlete in this flight is the 2016 world junior champion Cuban Luis Enrique ZAYAS’ Zayas is expected to have an easier time making the final. . Also in this flight is world and olympic champion
Gianmarco TAMBERI of italy and American Long jumper JuVaughn HARRISON
Mixed 4x400m
Over i the mixed 4x400m relay Jamaica and Dominican Republic are included in heat 2
Both teams are expected to easily make it into the final where they could line up against tougher teams including The USA, Belgium, Poland and the Netherlands who were all drawn in heat 1.

100m Men Prelims
Shaun Gill of Belize will be the first Caribbean Male on the track in heat 1. While
Emmanuel Archibald of Guyana will face the starter in heat 4 and is also expected to grab one of the two automatic qualifying spots from that heat into the next round.

Day 1 session 2
Shot put Women Qualifying
The Jamaican pair of Lloydricia CAMERON and Danniel THOMAS-DODD will heave into action from flight one and two respectfully. Thomas Dodd is the strongest Caribbean competitor in this event and will be joined in flight 2 by Trinidadian Portious WARREN
Long Jump Men Qualification
Collegiate Champion Wayne PINNOCK of Jamaica will seek to qualify from flight 1
But the bulk of Caribbean male long jumpers will jump off in Flight 2.
Defending world Champion Tajay Gayle has been injury prone since the tokyo olympics and might struggle. He will be joined by the in form Bahamian LaQuan NAIRN Cuban Maykel MASSÓ and Tristan JAMES of Dominica.
Women 1500 heats
Jamaican Adelle TRACEY will line up in heat 2 of the women's 1500. She is the only Caribbean woman competing in this event and will have to run a smart race to qualify to the next round.

Also down to start in session 2 is the Men's 100m heat which will be interesting to say the least.
The mixxed 4x400m relay will close off day 1. If all goes well All three Caribbean teams will make the final with a chance to stand on the podium.
