How to grow a mosambi plant at home?

मौसंबी (Citrus limetta) एक फल है। यह नींबू जाति का ही फल है परन्तु नींबू से अनेक गुना लाभदायक है। मौसमी का फल नांरगी के बराबर आकार का होता है। मुम्बई और गुजरात में इसे मुसम्मी या मौसमी कहते हैं। उत्तर प्रदेश मे इसे 'मीठा नींबू' कहते हैं। मौसमी का रस साबुन, शराब तथा अन्य पेयों में डाला जाता है। इसके छिलके से निकाला हुआ तेल जल्दी उड़ जाता है। इसलिए इसके तेल को जैतून के तेल के साथ मिलाकर उपयोग किया जाता है।मौसमी का उपयोग पोषक आहार के रूप में होता है। मौसमी की तीन किस्में-नेवल, जुमैका और माल्टा हैं। मौसमी की कलम लगाने से आजकल इसकी अनेक उपजातियां हैं। नेवल किस्म अमेरिका में उत्तम मानी जाती है। माल्टा का छिलका व रस लाल रंग का होता है। मौसमी के फल एक-आधा महीना तक बिना बिगड़े ज्यों-के-त्यों बने रहते हैं।
