In this video I design and make an elegant curved bench to fit into a bay window. A template was created to make sure the seat fit perfectly in place. The bench is made from white oak, it has decorative moulded trim and hand turned legs with decorative beading. These legs were designed to match other furniture in my clients home and I also wanted the finish to match so everything ties in nicely together. I decided to go for Rubio Monocoat mixing pure and mist 5% together, to make sure the oak remains it's lovely natural colour. I buffed the finish to get a stunning satin sheen to compliment the other furniture in the room. The bench has a storage shelf underneath for holding books and the top will have a custom made cushion.
