Do you want to start making soap? Does the idea of having to go out and buy a ton of tools intimate you? Don't worry - here's exactly what you'll need to start soapmaking on a budget! Many of these tools you may already have around the house, can upcycle or buy cheaply!
Note: I didn't mention a thermometer in this video simply because I don't use one. However, it is good to have and you may need own. Coconut oil, for example, is liquid at room temperature in my country. I use mainly liquid oils and don't melt them - liquid oils are definitely more affordable for beginners and easy to work with. Secondly, I always wait for my lye water solution to cool completely. If you do so, and wait long enough, you won't need a thermometer to check that it's cool enough. Just feeling the outside of the container is enough.
Here are the tools listed in the video:
1) Safety equipment - goggles, gloves and vinegar
2) Essential electric appliances - weighing scale and immersion blender
3) Mixing containers of different sizes - preferably plastic Grade 5 and above
4) Spoons and spatulas made from plastic or silicone
5) Moulds - milk cartons, cardboard boxes lined with plastic, inexpensive silicone moulds, etc.
