This discussion took place at the Lightbox Film Center as part of the 2018 Blackstar Film Festival. Taking part in the discussion is Bradford Young, the first African American DP to be nominated for an academy award; known for films such as "Arrival," "Solo: A Star Wars Story," "Selma," and more. Also participating is Rashid Shabazz, Chief Marketing and Storytelling Officer for Color of Change, and grassroots organizer. He has worked on a variety of projects to support African-American men, as well as other projects that focus on having more accurate, human, and diverse portrayals of African-Americans in all aspects of media.
