Welcome to our online first grade math class. Join me outside to identify even numbers using shells and rocks. We will also skip count using a simple song from Classical Conversations. This lesson introduces even and odd numbers and reviews skip counting by 2.

This video corresponds to the first grade (grade one) Saxon math curriculum lesson #55 Identifying Odd and Even Numbers to 20. It also introduces concepts included in the first grade math curriculum from Abeka, ACSI, Scott Foresman, Harcourt Math, and Math You See.

This video and channel were created during the Covid 19 (Corona Virus) pandemic. It's purpose is to provide online support for my students who are learning remotely at home. Perhaps it will also be an encouragement to other first grade (grade one) teachers who are striving to provide an online classroom as they navigate the new world of online teaching & remote learning. It may also provide support for parents as they encourage and support their first grade student learning from home.

Books I recommend for taking learning outside. Messy Maths, Dirty Teaching, Barefoot & Balanced.
