This HESCO flood barrier has been in place for 3 years now and has stopped over 7' of floodwater from the Mississippi River the last two years in a row. When flood season passes, a hole is cut into this HESCO flood wall for access purposes.

Every year, just before flood season, we plug the hole or execute a 'gap closure' to seal it up in preparation for flooding.
This video focuses on some of the techniques used when executing a 'gap closure' in preparation for flood season.

Anybody who uses HESCO Bastion as a flood barrier or as a military barrier for use as a blast wall would appreciate some of the techniques shown in this video.

Specifically, how do you attach a new HESCO flood barrier to one that is already filled? This shows multiple ways on how to accomplish this.

Broader Point:
Some locations that require a flood barrier around them, also require the ability to access the facility. It is simple to execute a 'gap closure' within a floodwall using HESCO Bastion. So, perhaps you have done some flood defense landscaping or you have a floodwall already built where you have isolated your flood risk to a few 'gaps' in your flood defense perimeter. If this is the case, you could always have a few cells of strategically filled HESCO Bastion that provide great anchor points to quickly tie your floodwall into and CLOSE THE GAP.

It is easier to close a gap within a floodwall than it is to wait until just before the flood to construct an entire floodwall. If you have sections of flood defenses already in place, you save time, money, and stress associated with having to construct an entire flood defense perimeter.
