Today we are outdoors cooking over an open fire an easy simple BBQ chicken with Jason, Riley makes homemade strawberry short cake and Brayden helps with a table scape and green salad from the garden. Its the first dinner outside and we are celebrating the season with family time. I feel like it is so harden to make time and sit down to dinner as a family in the high season of the flower farm and summer life but we are doing it and what a beautiful time we had. I am starting this video off with a restyling of an old tool box and adding in some low water need succulents and plants for a pop of interest on the table. I pull out a few more terracotta pots from the cottage greenhouse to style this beautiful summer table. Brayden lays out a tablecloth and place settings as I gather a few garden rose blooms for a simple table arrangement.
Green Salad
Fresh greens from the garden
Fresh dill chopped fine
Freshly shelled peas
Herb and Garlic infused olive oil
Juice of 1/2 of a fresh lemon
Fetta Cheese and course salt
BBQ Chicken
Low and slow with whatever sauce you love
Strawberry short cake
2 and 2/3 flour
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
mix and cut in
3/4 cup cold butter cubed
add
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons heavy cream
coarse sugar for sprinkling on top
bake at 400 degrees F or 204 degrees C for 15 minuets
