이곳은 서울의 마지막 달동네라 불리는 노원구 중계동 104번지 백사마을입니다. 백사마을은 1960년대 후반, 서울도심개발로 밀려난 철거민들이 불암산 자락에 정착하게 됩니다.

오랜세월 동안 노후화된 가옥들이 붕괴위험에 노출되면서 2009년 재개발 정비구역으로 지정됩니다. 하지만 사업시행자의 사업포기, 주민갈등, 정비계획변경 등 난항을 겪게 됩니다. 그리고 올해 주민 이주완료 후 철거를 시작할 모양입니다.

철거전에 오랜 세월동안 백사마을 주민들의 삶의 흔적들을 조심스럽게 담아봤습니다.

This is Baeksa Village, 104 Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu, said to be the last village in Seoul. In the late 1960s, Baeksa Village was founded by evictees who were pushed out by Seoul's urban development and settled at the foot of Mt. Bulam.

It was designated as a redevelopment area in 2009 as houses that had aged for a long time were exposed to the risk of collapse. However, it faces difficulties such as the project operator's abandonment of the project, residents' conflicts, and changes in the maintenance plan. And it looks like demolition will begin after the residents are relocated this year.

Before demolition, we carefully captured traces of the lives of Baeksa Village residents for a long time.
