Photos of M. Lanza and K. Grayson, and champion ice skaters skating while he sings, combine to make this a special treat not only for the ear, but also for the eye.

Mario Lanza sings "If I Loved You" so beautifully and with such great tenderness. His voice is considered the best of our generation by millions of fans around the world. May this video help introduce him to future generations.

The music and lyrics of "If I Loved You" are from the stage musical "Carousel" of 1945. It was adapted from Ferenc Molnár's 1909 play "Liliom", by Richard Rodgers who did the music and Oscar Hammerstein II who did the song lyrics.

Special thanks go to the following web sites and their holders and other media for use of their online photos and video which made this video possible:

LIFE Magazine, the magazine which has images online from which a number of photographs of Mario Lanza and Katherine Grayson were taken.

The color photos of Mario Lanza and Katherine Grayson were taken from their film "That Midnight Kiss". The film is available for purchase from Turner Classic Movies online.

   • Gordeeva & Grinkov (URS) - 1988 Calga...  , a YouTube video posted by 3Axel1996 of an Ice skating exhibition starring Yekaterina Gordeeva & Sergei Grinkov (URS) which took place in 1988 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. 3Axel1996 has posted 3,339 videos. In this video, Gordeeva & Grinkov are actually skating to Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata". I replaced the original audio with Mario's voice singing "If I Loved You". I hope that Gordeeva & Grinkov might be pleased with the result.
