There's no denying how much electric mobility has changed the game in recent years. We are seeing huge momentum in the two-wheeler world, with many countries around the world encouraging people to ditch their cars and move towards electric two-wheelers, be it e-bikes or e-scooters.

Many new and exciting electric two-wheelers have emerged, many of which were showcased at EICMA 2023 held last November. One of the prominent e-motos is the product of Chinese e-mobility startup Naxeon in the form of "I AM". Called Abstract, this electric bike is said to focus on individuality and offer urban commuters an efficient and exciting experience. Indeed, on paper this seems to be the case, as it is quite fast for urban transportation.

From a styling perspective, the I AM takes the form of a mini bike with Honda Grom-like proportions. Its design is distinctly clean, giving it a sleek and futuristic look, as if it were a prop from a sci-fi movie. The company was founded in ChongQing, China, in 2021 and has partnered with E-Quilibrium, an Italian company, to enter the European market. Electric two-wheelers are becoming increasingly popular in Europe, and I AM is bound to add a touch of futurism to the mix.

In terms of performance, a top speed of approximately 75 miles per hour is achieved thanks to a powerful electric motor integrated into the hub of the rear wheel. The battery is a semi-solid state unit with multiple options when it comes to its capacity. For reference, you can choose between a 4.3 kWh or 6.5 kWh battery pack, with ranges ranging from 75 to 183 miles on a single charge. To make things even better, the bike comes with fast charging technology with a 20 to 80 percent charging time of 90 minutes.

It is currently expected that the Naxeon I AM will also be available in France and Belgium. because distribution agreements in these countries are already secured. The company plans to launch in Germany very soon. However, the bike has a very attractive price despite all the technology it brings. This price of 7,400 euros, or approximately US$7,971 per exchange rate at the time of writing, will certainly give other e-mobility startups a run for their money. Deliveries of the first batch of I AM electric motorcycles are expected in spring 2024.
