Emily Dickinson is an American poet from Amherst, Massachusetts. She lived from 1830 to 1886. Although her poetry is well known today, only 10 of her poems were published in her lifetime. After her death, it was heavily altered to fit conventions of the day. It wasn’t until 1955 that her poetry was published in its original form.
