Saturday, September 24, 2022, 7:32 PM. Here's tonight's Spacex Falcon 9 launch as seen from my back yard in Orlando, Florida from about 40 miles away. There were a couple of odd features in this launch that puzzled me that I'm hoping to learn more about in the days to come. At about 1:26 the vapor trail is interrupted and reappears at 1:35. Then at 2:15 the exhaust has expanded into sort of a bubble and three small white dots appear that are of about the same brightness as the main exhaust trail. At 3:24 a bat flies across the field of vision, and at 4:10 another white dot appears and slowly sinks. I wondered if this was the booster rocket descending for its controlled landing.
