The Cop26 took place from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in Glasgow, UK. The UK declared that the conference aims to “secure global net zero by mid-century and keep 1.5 degrees within reach”, as well as to protect communities and natural habitats.

With the help of three prominent experts: Elisa Morgera (University of Strathclyde), Josephine van Zeben ( chair LAW Group at WUR) and Niki de Sy (Assistant Professor at the Laboratory of Geo-information Science and Remote at WUR), this Rapid Reaction Seminar, taking place a few days after COP26, will critically reflect on its significance, contents and outcomes, touching upon themes that range from nature conservation, to human rights, to the European Green Deal.
