When we travel, as you may imagine most of my pursuits revolve around food. Whilst it isn’t a priority for “the boss”, she sportingly goes with the flow, But then, we balance it out with a bit of what she loves, some retail therapy too. In this closing vlog, we spend a morning shopping for phulkari dupattas at a store, off the tourist trail (beware of touts who will try rather hard to take you to certain stores for a hefty commission that gets added to your bill!), and also check out Punjabi juttis (shoes), another must-buy when in Amritsar.

In addition to the Golden Temple, a vlog of which you may have already seen on our channel, one must also visit the Attari-Wagah border to take in the ‘beating the retreat’ ceremony that happens at sunset each day. The invigorating parade ceremony of the BSF jawans orchestrated to bugle calls and mighty shouts are the sort that stir in one a deep sense of patriotism.
