While ultimately they didn't manage much in the way of team success, the Vikings from 2006-2008 led the league in rushing defense every single year and put together perhaps the most quietly formidable defensive front sevens of all-time.

Kevin Williams is a potential Hall of Famer, and between he and Pat Williams the famed "Williams Wall" spearheaded a group that allowed just 2.8 YPC in 2006, the lowest mark in NFL history. Defensive ends Kenechi Udeze, Darrion Scotts, Ray Edwards, and Jared Allen were also physical edge setters who set the tone at the point of attack. Second level guys like Ben Leber, Napoleon Harris, Chad Greenway E.J Henderson, Darren Sharper and Antoine Winfield helped round out this extremely hard-nosed defense that was a nightmare for any offensive coordinator to gameplan against on the ground.
