The 2023 running of the PA Randonneurs Covered Bridges 200k is a challenging brevet with 8000 ft of climbing that started at the Chamounix Youth Hostel/Carriage House in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia this year. The ride's theme is to visit several historic covered bridges in Buck's County north of the city.
This year's running was a couple weeks earlier and was accompanied by cooler and windier weather than last year's. The rain forecast earlier in the week held off, and we even had glimpses of the sun.
All but 2 of the 60 riders that started finished this challenging ride!
This early season brevet should help jump-start my season and give me some confidence for PBP later in the year.
