A visit to the ancient Mayan Tulum archaeological site, on the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico, offers an experience rich in history and culture. The location, perched on the cliff edge overlooking the Caribbean Sea, is breathtaking.

The ancient Mayans believed that caves were paths to the underworld, and their gods. This made the discovery of a hidden mysterious cave beneath the Tulum ruins all the more enjoyable, and intriguing.

A Tulum archaeological site map showing the walking tour route is at the end of the video. The last few minutes also shows the walk to beautiful Tulum beach from the archaeological site.

Our walking tour touches the key features, and shares the captions displayed at each location of interest. I used the phone instead of the wide angle action camera for these captions, and pausing the video should allow for time to read them. Flying drones here is prohibited, so the footage is all ground, and a bit underground, based.

If you happen to like iguanas, then this is episode for you... they are everywhere.
