I've made some clouds with LED background lighting for my kid's room. The clouds are made of 9mm MDF and have been cut-out with a CNC router. The LED strips used in this video are Pixie LED-strips from ADA-fruit, but any WS2812B Led-strips will do the trick.

Each cloud can be controlled individually with the onboard Wemos D1 mini board (ESP8266).
