Special Strawberry Delicious Drink for Muharram 2024 by Cookcraft Delight

Ingredients:
1 pound (450 grams) fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
1 cup (200 grams) granulated sugar
1 cup (240 ml) water
1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for a bit of tang)
Instructions:
Prepare the Strawberries:

Wash, hull, and chop the strawberries.
Cook the Strawberries:

In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, and water.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their juices and the mixture comes to a simmer.
Simmer the Mixture:

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the strawberries are very soft and the syrup has thickened slightly.
If you like a bit of tanginess, add the lemon juice halfway through the simmering process.
Blend and Strain:

Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth. If you don't have an immersion blender, you can carefully transfer the mixture to a regular blender and blend until smooth.
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl or another saucepan, pressing down on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible.
Cool and Store:

Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature.
Transfer the syrup to a clean jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid.
Store the syrup in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
To Make Strawberry Milk:
Add 2-3 tablespoons of the strawberry syrup to a glass of cold milk. Stir well to combine. Adjust the amount of syrup to taste.
Enjoy your homemade strawberry milk syrup!
