Angklung director and educator, Faridah Jamal is known as the angklung queen of Singapore. She teaches angklung in several schools including Raffles Girls School, which have won awards at the Singapore Youth Festival. Angklung is a traditional musical instrument made of bamboo tubes attached to a bamboo frame. The tubes are tuned to specific notes and when shaken, produce a unique sound.
