This is on top on the Remarkables mountain range just outside of Queenstown in New Zealand.
There is a complete very well run facility with Ski Hire, restuarants, lounges and great viewing areas from inside, if you are not keen to be out on the slopes.
Price for a day hire and equipment is reasonable and will not sink your bank account.
The trip up the mountain is generally conducted early in the morning in the complete dark. Only when you return do you realise just how high you are and how near to 1000 foot (300 meter) strait drop offs on the sides and they are everywhere. Very scary. A magnificent destination even if you do not ski, just buy a bus ticket and enjoy.
