*All testings are set using the same track conditions as the Le Mans 700PP event which is fuel at 6x & tire wear at 10x. All cars tested mostly fully tuned with all available parts installed. PP requirements met by adjusting weight, power restrictor, etc². All cars go through a clean 1 lap run on fuel map 6 repeated 3x & the fastest time is selected.

Conclusion:
We finally got the Evo VIII in 1.52 which seemed odd at the time when it didn't come with the IX when that came out. The VIII like the IX also comes with a separate kit option when a widebody is installed which looks similar to the Type 2 Kit from Charge Speed which is the build I went for. It seems Polyphony really has a soft spot for this particular Evo or they might just be testing out some stuff to see how players respond. Well I hope they make this permanent & made available to most cars in-game. We can finally put decals on the intercooler! Also the VIII has a louder more noticeable turbo flutter sound! Another thing I would love to see return is aftermarket gauges. Comparing to the IX, handling & braking is somewhat similar but has a bit more understeer. It's slightly slower as well by a second. Overall, between the VIII & IX you can't go wrong with either as both perform really well. Just choose whichever you prefer in this case.
