Can The Base-Spec Honda HRV S CVT Deliver a Great Drive? [Car Review]

The 2022 Honda HRV has launched last April 2022, and it comes in two variants in the Philippines: a base spec 2022 Honda HR-V S and a top-spec Honda HR-V V turbo. In this Filipino car review, we take the base-spec Honda HR-V S CVT for a drive to see how it performs. The 2022 Honda HR V S CVT is equipped with a Honda City engine and transmission, which did not impress me. The added weight of the subcompact crossover body of the Honda HR-V S made the drive anemic, and not as responsive as what I would expect from a Honda. The only bright spot here is the fuel economy, since it was able to deliver a decent level of fuel consumption. The interior of the base spec Honda HRV S is also cheap, since it has more plastic trim than soft touch materials. When compared to other contenders in the same price space, the 2022 Honda HRV S CVT does not compete as well as other subcompact crossovers, or even its stablemate, the base Spec Honda Civic S turbo.
