In the USA it is still legal in 40 states for children to get married. Between 2000 and 2018 nearly 300,000 minors were married in the USA, mostly girls, married to adult men. The trauma of forced child marriages stays with these women throughout their lives. Today, some are bravely speaking out about their experiences and trying to stop child marriages in America.
