After a 5-year pause the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has restarted construction on Jeddah Tower which, once completed, should claim the title of the World's Tallest Manmade Structure. But the UAE, home of Dubai and the current tallest building the world Burj Khalifa, isn't giving up the mantle without a fight. Announcing they will resume construction on what could become an even taller structure, the Dubai Creek Tower.

In this video we take a look at the incredible engineering and logistical feats it took to get the Jeddah Tower to the point of construction that it is today, and the even more daunting challenges that lie ahead. We'll look at how the tower will function and how it will be used once completed, and what its construction means for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Middle East region, and the world at large.
