Knives out blew us away in 2019, and Rian Johnson is back again to send Daniel Craig on another murder mystery! In Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, detective Benoit Blanc makes his way to Greece to solve the Murder of Miles Brom, played by Ed Norton! Things are a bit off when who’s there to welcome the party other than Miles himself? Well, Miles is clearly based on Elon Musk, so there’s naturally a bit of an ego trip going on. And it seems that Miles’ friends share in that Ego themselves! Dave Bautista plays a manosphere dudebro that streams games on Twitch, and whose tattoos might reveal more than you might think! Kathryn Hahn, known for her role as Agatha in WandaVision, brings the charm you’d expect from an environmentalist political pundit. The movie is set during the 2020 COVID pandemic, so naturally some of the members have their masks on, but some don’t. Birdie, played by Kate Hudson, barely has a mask at all, just a fishnet that may be a reminder of the time that Lana Del Ray wore the same “mask” when meeting her fans in 2020. As you can imagine, The Beatles song of the same name plays in this movie, but it’s not the only one. One of Paul McCartney’s other works makes its way into the film, along with some deftly-placed David Bowie classics. And it wouldn’t be a Rian Johnson film without a cameo from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, so stay tuned to see what it was!
