Storyline:
Singer Vaughn Monroe guest-stars as shy Ponderosa ranchhand Hank Meyers. In love with schoolteacher Abigail Jones (Eileen Ryan), Hank is too timid to reveal his feelings to her. Thus, in true "Miles Standish" fashion, Hank asks Adam Cartwright to act as go-between-with the expected results.

"This episode of Bonanza marks the last appearance before cameras for the big or small screen of one of the greatest of pop singers in the last century. Vaughn Monroe is taught how to sing by none other than Pernell Roberts in The Wooing Of Abigail Jones.

When Monroe was at the height of his career one of his nicknames was 'the voice with hair on its chest'. That deep bass/baritone is unmistakable if you have the privilege of hearing him sing on film or on record. Monroe is a cowhand who's setting about wooing Eileen Ryan who is in the title role. Problem is that she has eyes for Adam Cartwight after hearing him sing.
