John Lydon is the former lead singer and songwriter with The Sex Pistols who formed in 1975 and famously imploded in 1978. The band was managed by Svengali Malcolm McLaren, who along with help from Vivienne Westwood, put the band together from their shop SEX, 430 Kings Rd London. John subsequently went on to form Public Image Limited, commonly known as PIL whose first hit, Public Image was followed up by Death Disco in 1978.
