This is one of the most beautiful places in Kobe let alone Japan. The Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden sits on the Rokko Mountain. You an hike up or take the ropeway for gorgeous aerial views of Kobe City & the mountain areas. Up along the hike which starts right at the shin-kobe station, there is a almost Tarzan like bridge you can cross and you'll see 4 water falls which are known as the most inspirational falls in all of Japan. Photo & literature worthy picturesque falls you will not see anywhere else. There is also the Nunobiki dam which can be hiked to (with the proper gear but we were not prepared for that). And this is just if you want to hike because there are many trails in the area.
There is an epic German plaza at the top with an amazing restaurant with beautiful food. There are also 12 gardens along the way back down to the mid station that will not disappoint, an herb & fragrance museum, hammocks you can lounge in, so many flowers you'll begin to wonder how it can get anymore gorgeous. Also there is a glasshouse or green house which has a luxurious cafe and a free herbal foot spa for anyone to use.
So MANY little spots in this place you could stay here all day exploring...so take a breath & walk with me...
