Isaac Newton, the brilliant mind behind the laws of motion and universal gravitation, was not just a genius but also a bit absent-minded. One day, while deeply engrossed in his work, he invited a friend over for dinner. As the two sat down to eat, Newton got lost in thought, contemplating some complex mathematical problem. His friend, noticing Newton's distraction, decided to play a little prank. He quietly removed the chicken from Newton's plate and began eating it himself. A while later, Newton snapped out of his reverie, looked at his empty plate, and exclaimed, "I could have sworn I hadn't eaten yet!"

Newton’s absent-mindedness didn't stop there. On another occasion, Newton acquired a new pet cat and decided to cut a small hole in his office door to let it in and out. Sometime later, the cat had kittens, and Newton, in his unique way of solving problems, proceeded to cut several smaller holes beside the original one. When asked why he did this, Newton replied, "How else will the kittens get through?" Newton’s colleagues couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of multiple holes in the door, all unnecessary since the kittens could have easily followed their mother through the original hole.

One final story involves Newton's alchemical experiments, which were a secretive and somewhat mysterious aspect of his life. He often worked late into the night, mixing various substances in search of the philosopher's stone. One evening, while engrossed in his alchemy, Newton accidentally set fire to his hair with a candle. Unfazed, he extinguished the flames and went right back to his experiments, as if nothing had happened. These stories highlight not just Newton's brilliance, but also the charming, quirky side of a man whose mind was constantly in motion, thinking about the mysteries of the universe.
