It is easier to point fingers at large commercial fishing companies, but discarded fishing line from a subsistence fishermen or hobby anglers is just as damaging. Whether it's commercial or recreational, ghost fishing gear has the same devastating impact on marine life. An entangled seal doesn't distinguish between the two, the outcome is always suffering and potential death caused by these lines. There is only one solution: skip the fish!
