Wallpapering is something many hire decorators to come and do, but I’m here to show you how to wallpaper a room yourself, with no previous experience or knowledge, and certainly no fancy tools required! - this is for paste to paper installation, but paste to wall is essentially the same, you just paste the wall and not the paper! Paste the wall also means you can trim the excess much easier.

What you’ll need:

- Your wallpaper of choice - make sure the batch codes match up so the pattern and colour is consistent!
- Spirit level
- Pencil
- Sandpaper, sugar soap & polyfilla (for prep)
- seam Roller
- wallpaper brush
- paste brush
- Stanley knife/sharp blade
- scissors
- wallpaper paste suitable for paper’s application type (paste to wall or paste to paper)
- bucket
- drop cloth

Preparation is key. If you have a thin paper, any imperfections on the wall will show through, so ensure everything is filled, sanded down and cleaned before you start.
