I finally got the transition pan upper all welded in and cleaned up and it looks so good! I prepped the landing surfaces with weld-through primer and the frames and cross-member with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator before welding in. Considering these places were unprotected and held up just fine, I feel really good about them. I used several clamps and self-tapping screws (and my body weight) to get the pan to lie flat against the frame rails and cross-member.
The frame rails are galvanized, so I was sure to have ventilation and wore a full-cartridge respirator while welding it in.
Next up is working on the floor! Thanks for watching!
