These are a few basic signs in ASL for police officers. Being able to communicate even the most basic ideas in ASL when conversing with a Deaf person is a tremendous help! When a police officer arrives on the scene, most likely, there will not be an ASL interpreter immediately available. Having the signing tools "in-hand" to get basic, critical information could save a life!
