➡️ The people have spoken! "The Glass Prison" won our poll for the next ‪@dreamtheaterofficial‬ video, and I had a blast checking out this live performance in Bucharest, Romania from 2002 shortly after their double-album "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence" was released. In this reaction video, I analyze the finesse of John Myung and his incredibly full-range bass performance from one of Dream Theater's most epic tracks. I dissect the chordal bass intro and its harmonics, John's three-finger plucking technique, his use of the multi-finger raking technique, Mike Portnoy's innovative drum parts, some music theory behind John Petrucci's sweep picking solo, the song's key change patterns, and how Dream Theater just write prog metal songs so dang flawlessly. Grab a nice beverage - this one's long and heady!
