Nagaland’s very on International Taekwondo instructor/Grand Master, Israel G Xuivi, was given a warm reception by members of the Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA), upon his return back to Nagaland, at Dimapur airport on August 30, following the official award ceremony for induction into the Taekwon-do Hall of Fame held at Jersey City, USA on August 19.

During the event, Xuivi spoke on his elation and gratitude for receiving the award as he had personally never expected to achieve such a feat. “I dedicate this achievement to the people of Nagaland, may it inspire the younger generation more in the years to come,” he said. Stating that, as taekwon-do is an international discipline, formulated through the combination of several techniques; he began taking interest in the sport at the tender age of 2 years.

He also noted of the keen love for the sport and stressed that he did not take it up as a means for monetary gain but at improving himself.
