On September 4, 2024, Trooper Michael Bowman was stationed on Interstate 540 when he observed a white Ford 500 traveling over the speed limit at 81 MPH. The driver, identified as Alicia Gonzalez, refused to pull over when Trooper Bowman initiated a traffic stop, instead accelerating and driving dangerously through traffic. Gonzalez's reckless behavior included driving on the wrong side of the road, running through stop signs, and reaching speeds of up to 100 MPH.
