Channa village is located in Gulsi in Burdwan district. Revolutionary Jatindranath Banerjee established an ashram here in 1907. Today it is known as Channa Ashram or Niralambaya Swami's Ashram. There was a time when freedom fighters like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Arvind Ghosh, Bhagat Singh came to this revolutionary ashram. Even after so many decades, this Channa village still retains its old history.
