9-16-2017 Short Track Racing lost one of it's legends.
Ted Christopher, lost his life in off track tragic accident, that hit the heart of the racing community across the country. TC, Ted Christopher was known for his "3 Tap" rule that transcended to national broadcasts of Nascar racing. Teddy, was known to ruffles feathers and get under the skin of his competitors but at the end of the day, you knew that you just battled one the best ever in short track racing. He lost his life on his way to the Nascar Whelen Modified Touring Series race at Riverhead Raceway. Track attendees were all baffled and were at a lost for words. Track Announcer Bob Finan would take the helm later in the evening in victory lane and give an emotional speech and a final send off of the ride TC was going to be wheeling. The drivers, crews and fans were on their feet as the #82 Modified took the checkers with TC, Ted Christopher, name above the door one last time. Teddy once ruffled the feathers of his competitors down here on earth, now he's ruffing the feathers with the Angles in Heaven. Thank you, TC for the years of racing and friendships.
