Flat, stable and available in a wide number of species, plywood is an ideal material to be machined on a CNC router. In our first show, we’re going to look at how to get the best cuts in plywood by trying out 4 different bits: straight, upcut, downcut and compression.

We’ll apply what we have learned to create a project that I know you will find useful – stackable sawhorses. Strong and sturdy, these sawhorses can be used as a handy stepstool for low assembly stands or stacked for the full height of a traditional sawhorse. We’ll take you through both the cutting and assembly of these horses. DXF files are available free for you to download and make your own.

Last, we’ll finish up by answering a few questions. So, if you’re curious about CNC routers or are a CNC owner, please join us for episode 1 of CNC Basecamp.
