Gusty winds and cooler temps did not stop the Lansing community from gathering for food, entertainment, and relationship-building at National Night Out 2024. The Tuesday, August 6, event was held at Fox Pointe in downtown Lansing, and The Lansing Journal was there.

National Night Out is a nationwide event that happens annually on the first Tuesday in August. The purpose is to promote police-community camaraderie through activities, informational presentations, fun interactions, and food. In an era of increasing mistrust between police and residents — particularly in diverse communities where misunderstandings can escalate — the Village of Lansing is proactively investing in relationship-building.
