The Case of Wilhelm Reich is the title of a film biography about Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957), the Austrian psychoanalyst, Marxist and later founder of orgonomy, which was considered a pseudoscience. However, only the last period of his life is thematized, which he spent in exile in the United States from 1939 to 1957. Directed by Antonin Svoboda, the film stars Klaus Maria Brandauer. The film was completed in the fall of 2012, then was immediately released in Austrian cinemas, and only in German cinemas from September 5, 2013.

The film opens with a prologue in which Reich gives a lecture to a gathering of psychoanalytic colleagues, including Sigmund Freud, in Vienna in the mid-1920s. He delivers an engaging account of his views on the social dimension of the problem of mass neuroses, but meets with little approval, rather rejection and restrained hostility. The actual plot begins at the time when Reich had settled in the USA in 1940.
