Just another day in the workshop, loads of tools dropped in for repair. Getting through them 1 by 1.

The bosch GSA 36V-LI recip saw was 1 of three dropped by the fire department. These would be kept on board fire engines for cutting through roofs and doors of crashed cars, etc. So they can see hard use. These saws were all from 2010, so they have been around some time.
Tool holders in recip saws like these can be tricky to replace. So you need to have some patience when doing this one.
The other 2 machines were indeed also tool holder problems.

The Bosch GSB18-2Li drill is a simple motor change, but it was only worth doing as it had not been used much, so the rest of the drill was still basicly new anyway.

Modern milwaukee tools are now a problem for me. As you can see, they can waste a lot of time.
As a rule now, I waste no time on them. It's either a simply fix or nothing. It is not worth spending time on them, as most of the time they are not worth fixing.
It has got to the stage now, where I ask people not to take milwaukee tools in anymore.

And yes, it's a common sight for me to get both tools that have no fault found, like the dewalt dcn692 nail gun. Or are so far beyond repair, you wonder why anyone would ever leave them in, like the old dewalt drill and cordless recip saw.

As for the Hitachi DC20VB drill, you have to love getting old tools in. Sometimes, they shock and amaze you by the amount of work and abuse they can take. This old hitachi is no different. Only needing a set of new brushes.
But that is often the way with old tools. They were simply built to a different standard.
