On those days, colonies of penguins will often gather in “huddles” — basically giant cuddle piles of penguins that are totally adorable to humans and also prevent the penguins involved in them from freezing to death

If there's one thing that emperor penguins (the tallest and heaviest among living penguins) excel at, it's cuddling. There's only one way to endure the frigid blizzards of the Antarctic, and that's by huddling together. On its own, the penguin huddle is heartwarming – but add baby penguins into the mix, and it's game over.
