Pontiac Central (5-3) entered the annual Pontiac City Championship game against crosstown rival Pontiac Northern (1-7), one win away from qualifying for the MHSAA state playoffs. Central lost a heartbreaker to Northern, 13-12, in the final minutes of the ball game.
