I'm a boat nerd more or less. We stayed at the South Pier Inn as there is NO BETTER VIEW of the harbor, canal and all that goes with it. We witnessed 3 awesome ships/boats, this was the first domestic of the weekend. Boat comes in view @ 3:40 and then sounds it's salute to the bridge just after the 4:00 mark. The bridge then returns the salute WHICH IS LOUD!!!! - I slapped up a "here comes the Salute" warning just before the salutes... I GUARANTEE you the bridge is LOUD from the South Pier Inn !!
